An Open Letter to Our Dealers: Thank You for Your Partnership

It’s that time of the year. Throughout the month of February, employees rove throughout our auctions parading ADESA Loves Our Dealers t-shirts while balloons and banners are displayed in the lanes and add to the festive flare. ADESA Loves Our Dealers Month has become quite the tradition in how we recognize Dealer Appreciation Month — with impressive participation from all of our 74 North American ADESA auctions. And while we formally celebrate our dealers during the month of February, gratitude for our customers extends the entire year.

In February 2018, I came back to KAR as President of ADESA. But before I ever stepped back into the office, it was my priority to go on a listening tour to as many of our auctions as possible and talk directly with our dealers. As a former dealer myself, I knew the significant value we could gain by having an open dialogue with our customers. What’s working well? What’s not?

The truth is, our dealers are at the heart of what we do. They have great ideas, and they’re willing to share them. They drive us to aim higher and do better, faster — suggesting user-experience improvements to our technology platforms, inspiring us to innovate and think differently about remarketing and safety, encouraging new opportunities for incorporating data-driven enhancements, and challenging us to create a more seamless experience both in-lane and online. It’s simple; our dealers make us better. Simulcast, DealerBlock and our physical auction experience have come to life and been enhanced by dealer feedback.

So, to all of our dealers, both buyers and sellers — thank you. Thank you for your suggestions, the lasting relationships and for putting your trust in ADESA. With your support, we will continue to deliver on our commitment to providing you with a best-in-class experience.
