Insurance Auto Auctions Further Enhances Its Best in Class
Buyer Experience with Enhanced Releases of I-Bid Live℠ and the IAA Buyer
New, Redesigned Intuitive Interface and Streamlined Access to Vehicle Information Improves Bidding and Buying Process
Westchester, Ill. — Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc. (IAA), the leading live and live-online salvage auto auction company and wholly-owned subsidiary of KAR Auction Services, Inc. (NYSE: KAR), today announced the redesign of its online bidding tool I-Bid Live℠ and increased functionality to its IAA Buyer app. The newly formatted I-Bid Live tool features a streamlined user interface that enhances the speed of accessing vehicle information, in addition to increased vehicle photo viewing options and expanded pre-bid details. IAA Buyer, the industry’s first buyer app, includes a new bar code scanning feature that allows immediate access to vehicle details all through a smart phone camera. All of these enhancements enable buyers to make a more informed purchase decision.
“Our investment into technology that enhances our buyer’s experience leads the industry and continues to be a key focus at IAA,” said Tom O’Brien, CEO. “As IAA’s dynamic business continues to grow, we are ensuring that our buyers have access to the information they need to bid and buy with confidence. Through our ongoing customer satisfaction research, buyer focus groups and advisory council, we understand that buyers want additional information and flexibility in the bidding and buying process. Our redesigned I-Bid Live and enhanced IAA Buyer app are examples of our continued mission to provide the information needed to connect the right buyer with the right vehicle and drive the highest prices at auction.”
Through the newly re-designed I-Bid Live interface, buyers will also be able to view all 10 vehicle photos at once and expand images for greater viewing detail. Buyers also can now view pre-bid details including dollar amounts and their own maximum bids. Additional features provide buyers the ability to place, change or cancel maximum bids prior to a vehicle being sold, and to at a glance distinguish between sold vehicles and those awaiting sale during the live auction. The new I-Bid Live interface was designed to be mobile compatible. Buyers can get the new I-Bid Live interface by logging on at IAAI.com, going to the Auctions tab, and clicking the “New Version Available” button on the screen.
The new bar code scanning feature available through the IAA Buyer app allows buyers to quickly scan the bar code of an IAA vehicle inventory sticker and instantly have access to all the vehicle details right from their smart phone. This feature, the first in the salvage auto industry, eliminates the need to key in a stock number or search through inventory, and streamlines the shopping and bidding process for buyers. The IAA Buyer app is available for Apple iOS today and will be available for the Android by the end of the month.
