KAR AUCTION SERVICES CEO JIM HALLETT RAISES MORE THAN $110,000 FOR TOUR DE CURE, NAMED TOP INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISER IN NATION
Carmel, Ind.-based KAR Auction Services, Inc. (NYSE: KAR), a provider of used vehicle auction services, announced today that CEO Jim Hallett has raised more than $110,000 for the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure, securing the top individual fundraiser spot in the nation.
Hallett rode with Team KAR, the corporate team representing the entire KAR Auction Services group of companies, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on June 21. Hallett, who raised more than $35,000 last year, secured the top individual fundraising spot in Indiana and the fifth in the country in 2013. This inspired him to surpass his record for the cause in 2014.
“Everyone is impacted by diabetes, whether they are personally battling it or know someone who is. The Tour de Cure is a great opportunity every year for the KAR team to band together and raise awareness and funds for an important cause,” said Hallett. “I want to personally thank our team members, colleagues, family and friends for their overwhelming generosity and support.”
The Tour de Cure is the American Diabetes Association’s signature fundraising cycling event, and part of KAR Auction Services’ ongoing charitable outreach initiatives. In 2013, more than 65,000 cyclists participated in 89 Tour de Cure events nationwide and raised more than $25 million.
